San Francisco-born Richard Serra is one of America’s most admired and controversial sculptors (his proposal for the Palace of Legion of Honor remains mired in debate). Serra’s creative output has embraced many visual mediums including 17 films beginning in 1968. Tonight’s selection, chosen by Serra, includes Hand Catching Lead, Hands Tied, Frame, Railroad Turnbridge, and Steelmill/Stahlwerk. Prints by Serra will be on exhibit at the Rena Bransten Gallery (77 Geary St.) from Nov. 3-Dec. 3.
