Canadian/American multimedia artist Paula Levine uses video to grapple with the paradox between narrative time and unstructured chaos. Levine uses the fixed frame “as though it were a seatbelt for the body in a futile attempt to carve out a stable perspective and understanding of the world, ordering the unorderable.” (P.L.) For her first Bay Area solo show she will present a selection of recent videotapes, including the two-channel East/West. Co-sponsored by the Canadian Consulate General.
