Light Moves East to West: Radical Light Continues…

Another week brings yet another assortment of fantastic programs! On Wednesday, 3-November, we are proud to present Radical Light: Women of the West, curated and introduced by Janis Crystal Lipzin and featuring films from Anne Severson [Alice Anne Parker], Barbara Linkevitch, Jane Dobson, Gunvor Nelson, Dorothy Wiley, Caroline Savage, Freude [Bartlett], Stephanie Beroes and Barbara Hammer. Jane Dobson and former Cinematheque Executive Director Caroline Savage will be in attendance! As with all Radical Light programs, many thanks to the Pacific Film Archive (which is a co-presenter of this and other related events ahead).

Then, the following evening (4-November), we venture over to the extraordinary Exploratorium to take part in After Dark: Fear with a themed program we’ve entitled Alone in the Dark: Projected Phobias. The screening includes a few terrifying films from a handful of our favorite filmmakers: Peter Tscherkassky, Jay Rosenblatt, Luther Price, Kerry Laitala, Stan Brakhage along with Stephen and Timothy Quay. Many thanks to Liz Keim, as always, for inviting us to play along.

Last but not least, we’ve announced our call-for-entries for the next Crossroads! Venture over to the calendar listing for all of the details. The “late deadline” is 10-February but there is certainly no need to wait to send things along until then!
