Frank Stauffacher’s pioneering “Art and Cinema” program at the SF Museum of Modern Art was one of the first showcases for avant-garde film in the United States. Tonight’s films are among the many that received premieres at “Art and Cinema’, including Broughton and Peterson’s The Potted Psalm, the film that set off the post-WWII Bay Area filmmaking explosion.
