Martin Arnold in person
Vienna sustains a thriving community of avant-garde filmmakers despite little official encouragement and a rich tradition including such figures as Kren, Kubelka, and Export. Tonight’s program presents work by five filmmakers of the younger generation: Martin Arnold’s Pièce Touchée (1989); tabula rasa and Shot-Countershot by Peter Tscherkassky; Souvenirs and Train of Recollection by Lisl Ponger; Color De Lux, 3 Kronen and 3’s Company by Dietmar Brehm; and Kugelkopf – An Ode to IBM, Parasympathica, and It Was My Pleasure by Mara Mattuschka. Total: 75 min.
