It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing
Jazz Films
Film archivist Mark Cantor has been lecturing on jazz films for several years and his collection of rarities is one the most formidable in the country. Tonight, Mr. Cantor will present nearly two hours of material filmed between the 1930s and 1950s, including, among others, Ellington, Basie, Cole Trio, Holliday, Hawkins, Jordan, Calloway, Waller, Armstrong, Goodman and Young. Few of these films have ever been commercially available.
