OUR IMPACT
Since its founding in 1961, San Francisco Cinematheque has presented nearly 5,000 film and video screenings, featuring tens of thousands of works of avant-garde and experimental cinema. Through screenings, publications, and archives, Cinematheque has helped establish the Bay Area as a major international center for artist-made film. In 2025, we presented 45 screenings and events, reached over 3,000 viewers, welcomed filmmakers from around the world, and continued expanding our physical and digital archives—furthering our long-standing commitment to artists and audiences.
